Prayer request
Hey y'all. A big prayer request would be prevention of injury and fast healing of current ones. Right when i started training, I went on a two hour trail ride. Ordinarily that would be fine, except for the fact that I haven't been on a horse in eight years, and i was on a huge one. My knee was bent at a weird angle the whole time cause the horse was so huge, and that aggravated the bursa in my knee. So for the past few days I've only been able to do upper body (no cardio) because me knee feels like it's giving out whenever I exert it. God's the great physician, and I've seen first hand miraculous healings. If y'all could be praying for that, I'd appreciate it so much. Thanks!

Inspiration
Yesterday was probably my second favorite day of this year's Olympics so far. In the women's double crew, Great Britain won the gold (their first of the games). Here's the thing though: four years ago, neither of them had EVER rowed in their lives. In just four short years, they went from having zero experience to beating out the rest of the world (by a good margin too!) It was so cool to see three union jacks as UK won gold, Australia silver, and New Zealand bronze :) It's people like that who are my inspiration. They had four years - I have eight. Leggo

The Dream
Hello! My name is Braxton Ray, and my goal is to one day be in the Olympics. Whether it's on a team, part of the torch relay, or even a team chaplain, I don't care. Just to be a part of such a huge global tradition - the top sporting and diplomatic event in the world - would be a huge honor. As a kid, I was an enthusiastic athlete: doing gymnastics, swimming, playing baseball, and soccer. Then around middle school, I got really into music, which left me with no time for sports. My period of intensively learning music is now over, and I can devote much more time to training physically for competition. College will provide me with many more connections and facilities to help me reach this goal. No matter where this path takes (long training hours, tedious applications, college teams, even dual citizenship) I'm willing and ready. So at the end of this first day of the XXX Summer Olympiad, I'm setting my sights on 2020. I can't tell you if I'll make it, but I can tell you that I'll try. This is my blog to document that journey. Endeavor to persevere. Philippians 4:13
